How to reach Goa?

Goa is a well known and popular attraction on the tourist map of India and is known worldwide. Goa can be accessed by bus, train or airplane and its national airport is connected to all the major international airports in India by several flights a day. There are few direct International flights to Goa for example from Condor airlines, Qatar airways etc. Two other international airports closer to Goa are Chattrapathi Shivaji International airport, Mumbai and Bangalore International airport, Bangalore (Bengaluru).

Delegates need to make their own hotel and travel arrangements. Delegates are strongly recommended to use Pre Paid taxis available at the airports to reach their destinations. The organizing committee recommends the following hotel near Mumbai airport during transit i.e Peninsula Grand (www.peninsulagrand.com). The organizing committee also recommends the following websites for hotel bookings.

General Information


All foreign delegates need visa to get into India. It can take more than one month for Visa. Therefore they are advised to plan accordingly. No visa on arrival is possible. If an invitation letter is required for the visa application, please contact us with your passport details.


Banks in India are generally open from 10 am to 5 pm. Foregin exchange facilities and Automatic teller machines (ATMs) are available extensively. One ATM from State Bank of India is available within the Institute campus, where the conference will be held. The national currency is the Indian Rupee (`). The exchange rate is around `45 for one US dollar and around `60 for one Euro.. The delegates are suggested to check with their bank for the exact rate.


he voltage and frequency used in India are 230V and 50Hz. Delegates are advised to bring suitable adapters to be used with their electronic devices.

Indian Standard Time

In India, there is only one time zone (GMT + 5h 30m).


Delegates are strongly advised to arrange for health and travel insurances to cover unforeseen circumstances during the travel and during their stay in India.


English is widely spoken in India and it will be the official language for this conference. No translation services will be provided.


In India, smoking is prohibited in and around the public buildings. Furthermore BITS Pilani KK Birla Goa campus where the conference will be held, is an educational institution that strictly follows the “no smoking” and “no alcohol” rules. Hence the delegates are advised not to smoke or drink within the Institute campus.


Delegates are strongly advised to use Pre paid taxiis available at Goa airport and railway stations to reach their hotels. Transportation will be provided by the host institute i.e BITS Pilani KK Birla Goa campus to bring the delegates from their respective hotels (suggested by the organizing committee) to the venue of the conference and back to their hotels. Transportation facility by the host institute i.e BITS Pilani KK Birla Goa campus will be made available at the following collection points i.e Colva, Madgaon, Vasco da Gama and Bogmalo.
